Why Your Business Needs To Help More

Tim Reid is a marketing speaker, podcaster and author for his business smallbusinessbigmarketing.com. I witnessed him on stage last year and he spoke about the importance of “helpful marketing” and that really resonated with me. Google’s algorithms change daily, but his advice was that Google wants unique, helpful content produced regularly and that is where podcasting has been his best asset for his business.

In a nutshell, here were his best tips for small businesses to implement.

  1. Adopt a helpful mindset. i.e. have a “free gift” for an email address subscription, or conduct helpful podcasts or blogs;
  2. Create the ultimate knowledge centre. i.e. have a 101 question area on your website with your frequently asked questions to “Help” your potential clients;
  3. Market your helpful marketing. i.e. ensure it is on your website, share it on your social media channels and to your newsletter subscribers;
  4. Be an opinion leader. each business has its own personal strengths, he believes we all have lots of knowledge we have to share. Write and share what you know.

Personally, I have never listened to a podcast, let alone made one, but I certainly will be investigating this for my businesses and I think you should too. I know, another thing to implement in the marketing of one’s business. Does it ever end? Something new to Give A Go!
